We love to share the outdoors and believe us, we know how much work goes into planning a ski trip for your class, school or ski club. Our staff takes care of all the details for you, before the trip and on the day of. We are here to help you organize, plan and create a memorable ski trip rich in learning opportunities. We'll even send a guide to your classroom before the trip to cover equipment and safety if you wish.
Our ski & snowboard day trips for schools are designed to promote and emphasize the importance of outdoor activities as part of a healthy balanced lifestyle. Skiing and snowboarding are key elements of physical literacy providing the basis for gliding and sliding skills. Skiing and snowboarding fit into the Alberta School Curriculum for Physical Education under the general outcomes of activity, health benefits, cooperation and daily activity.
This adventure is available daily throughout the winter. If you have a small group and do not require the usual school package (lesson and rental), then check out our public ski & snowboard day trips. They're offered all season long and group rates are available.
Our school group packages include return transportation from Red Deer, lift tickets, rental equipment and lessons. We supply you with all the forms required, take care of all the logistics and our guide will be on the trip to make sure you have a great day. We recommend leaving from Red Deer by 6am for most day trips.
Nakiska Ski Area
Renowned for their grooming, Nakiska is the best option for groups of varied abilities. It's also the closest mountain resort from Red Deer making it easier to add lessons to your day trip.
A favourite for groups with stunning views, great skiing and terrain to suit groups of all abilities.
The itinerary may change without notice due to the weather and other factors. Our goal is to always provide the best possible experience. All day trips listed here are available from Red Deer. Some of the destinations may not be available as a day trip if you are planning to leave from a different town.
Our rates vary based on the dates, availability and group size. Contact us below for more details. Our competitive pricing include free travel for teachers and chaperones (typically 1 per 10 students).
Group rates are available for groups as small as 5 guests on any of our scheduled departures. This is a great option for small groups looking to join others in their adventure.

How many people do we need? How big a group can we have?
Our school group adventures work best for groups of 40+ guests. Our small group adventures are a great option for groups with less than 19 guests. We'd be happy to work with your group of 19 to 39 guests but keep in mind that the cost per person will be higher.
How strenuous is this adventure? Do I need to have experience skiing or snowboarding?
All our Ski & Snowboard Day Trips are open to all abilities, even if your prefer to hang out at the lodge for the day.
What do you need to bring and wear on your adventure?
We recommend that you dress in layers and bring proper ski clothing. Rental equipment is not included but is available at each of the resort.
What is the cancellation policy?
For private group adventures we require a 20% deposit at the time of booking with the full payment due no later than 7 days prior to departure. We understand that things don't always go according to plan and if you need to cancel the following applies:
- For cancellations 48+ hours prior to departure a credit for the amount paid will be issued for a future adventure.
- For cancellations within 48 hours of departure a cancellation fee of $500 will be applied (or the total amount paid if less than $500). The balance will be issued as a credit for future adventures.
